Notes on the Coffee...

Our Itamambuca Brazilian is prepared using a natural process, which leaves 70-80% of the sweet mucilage on the beans while drying, which is then rested in silos for 30 to 60 days depending on the weather until the beans reach the perfect moisture content.

The Catucai varietal is a cross between Icatu and Catuai, a small and hardy plant with high productivity, making it perfect for the lower altitudes associated with Brazilian coffee growing.

Our Itamambuca Brazilian has a SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) score of 84.5, which means it is rated as very good by certified Q graders who perform a coffee tasting process called cupping. A score of 80 or above classifies the coffee as 'speciality grade.’

About the wave...

Praia de Itamambuca beach is approximately 3 km long with soft, white sand and clear blue water and is known for its stunning natural beauty. At the southern, sheltered end of the beach, backed by luscious green trees, is river mouth break renowned for producing peeling right handers.
